I am looking at the pile of books I discovered in my spare bedroom (and also found TWO more HUGE boxes of VHS tapes of wrestling shows I've been part of in my life . . . I already threw like 4 or 5 BIG boxes away . . .sheesh). Anyway, back to the books: there are so many to pick from and so many I never read.
So I'm trying to decide if I should start with an inspirational Christian living kind of book from Lucado or Yancey or if I should dig into some heavy Bible study with some of my Old Testament textbooks that I surely didn't read or at least didn't read very well in college. I also could start with one of the many devotional books I found.
Decisions, decisions... do you guys have any ideas?

New Year's Resolution
My friend Chad and his mom will be happy to know that this year I've made a couple of New Year's Resolutions. One of them is that I will drastically reduce my sodapop intake to nothing. Once the pop is gone from my refrigerator at home, I will not be buying anymore. I will still keep some on hand at the office for my guests, but I will do my very best not to partake. I have got to stop drinking so much sugar and I have got to drop some of this weight. So, also I will begin exercising more regularly. It's awfully cold outside right now but there are things I can do at home in my apartment in the mornings and I am going to do my best to become more physically fit.
I also need to do some things to become more mentally and spiritually fit. So, I have setup a new office area in my apartment and I intend to begin studying the Bible as well as counseling material to make me a better counselor and a better person. I will be posting something every day or so on this blog as a way to share what I'm learning and hopefully to inspire you.
So, I hope that you will follow this blog. I hope that you will share your thoughts, as well. And I will keep you posted on my physical, mental, and spiritual fitness.
Happy New Year!
